Lucknow: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Centre for Vedic Sciences of the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow, organized a grand Yoga Camp at the institute’s Godavari Campus. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, officers, staff, and students, reflecting their commitment to promoting the practice of yoga.
The Yoga Camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Bharat Raj Singh, Chairman of the Centre for Vedic Sciences. He led the participants through various yoga postures (asanas), pranayama techniques, and meditation practices, while also explaining their scientific significance and health benefits in detail.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh emphasized that regular yoga practice not only strengthens physical health but also enhances mental balance, concentration, positive thinking, and immunity. He stated that in today’s stressful lifestyle, yoga serves as one of the most effective means of achieving a healthy and balanced life. He encouraged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.

All participants practiced yoga with great enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication. The event was attended by Dr. P. K. Singh, Dean of Student Welfare; Dr. Gyanendra Gupta, Dean (Engineering); Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Principal (Diploma); Dr. Asha Kulshreshtha, Head of Department; Dr. Arunesh Srivastava, Incubation Manager; Ugrasen Singh, Administration Manager; Ankit Singh; the Hostel Warden; along with other faculty members, officers, staff, and more than 50 students, who actively participated in the programme.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge to build a healthy, aware, stress-free, and yoga-oriented society. The participants resolved to adopt yoga as a way of life and contribute towards building a healthier and stronger nation.
